It would be a great and unexpected turn of events if Syria turned democratic. Sadly, things seem to go the other way.

It's a huge deal, definitely cause for celebration. Millions of people will now be able to go home to see family and friends, just for starters.
A large number of these folks live up the road from me.
It's currently the largest displacement crisis in the world.
