Especially in the U.S. where the center leans to the right. A centrist is only as good as whatever aspect of the establishment they're interacting with. I remember once hoping some centrists could be non-partisan pragmatists, I'm not sure if such a person is even possible in the federal government.

On a personal level, I'm being 'radicalized' because I want to own a home and send my kids to public school.
