Selling a Veleno?

I think the best thing for everybody who has no need for interaction with Mr. Gallo on this board would be to not post any more opinions, tirades or jokes.

Vincent bought a guitar from me, I complained about the way he treated me and he apologized and I'm fine with the situation now. The other stuff does not concern me and I'm not going to be a part of it. Selling a Veleno, Veleno has been sold.

i do want to make something clear (which i may have a hard time doing.) i understand why some people are offended by vicious or ugly art-- writings, paintings, films, music, etc...
obviously steve has made art that has upset people. ok. fair enough. i am on the same page with gcbv. vincent gallo doesn't have it in him to create that. neither do i. i am ok with being a fan. vincent gallo should make "good" mainstream films or his music but instead he is so desperate that he is obsessed with it. he continuously embarrasses himself by using the simplest of language and creating simple misanthropic projects. it is not a mystery why he called me a slut or ugly or a pig- just boring. it is not a mystery why he said he would not impregnate someone who is not white- just boring. it is not a mystery to me that he directed and starred in an intentionally long, boring porno- but i will say that knowing that chloe sevigny cried during the screening at cannes does upset me. he's a boring artist who will intentionally hurt people that believe he has good intentions.
looking forward to new projects by peter sotos, dr kay redfield jamison, lauren weedman, daido moriyama, loretta lux, jack mcbrayer, kim deal, rory kennedy, alex prager, jen davis, bracha l ettinger, martha plimpton, nina nastasia, matt besser

I agree with Heather completely. I guess that's why I've been a counter to the VG apologists here, especially concerning his "conceptual" art. It's boring, derivative, and uninteresting. It's better than some artists, and of course he's welcome to do what he likes. It doesn't mean I have to like it or that you don't!

I guess my problem with VG is that he's totally average. He's probably best as a film maker, and should stick with that honestly. If he was making real art, it would sell for more than $300 and not remain unsold on his site. Judging form his insecure responses on this site, he also knows that he's a completely average artist.

for what it's worth, I agree with everything you've written in this thread so far as well, heather. Both your and tommy's viewpoints have been clearly stated, and were funny and eloquent.

cheers,

Tommy, that is very funny. If fairness was a disease, you'd have it. Salut!
