A while back I had a guy bring me on of those that had been modded (very poorly) into a guitar amp and he wanted me to just do something fun and Marshall-y with it. I would up going with a sort of four-headed snake with both channels from a JTM and both channels from a JMP 1987, all with their own volumes to blend them. It was...absurd.

I have a VTB-120 and I love it. If it's funcational at this point, good chance someone has solved any 'known' problems (apparently the plate voltages are crazy? I haven't actually opened mine up.. I'm being superstitious about it. It'll work forever if I never open it).
if I saw another VTB-120 for 500 or less I would buy a second

that is absolute pure genius, The gain is "sufficient" I would imagine.
