Maybe they’re not anti vax. Maybe they just want the buses on the road and the planes in the air. Maybe they are vaccinated. Maybe they would have not been wiped out because protesting is a safe activity. Maybe they already got infected.
No, that's not it.
Everybody.

Whatever the case, it’s still a dull story.

forcing it on children who have no choice when the side effects will not be known for years is immoral.
No. We know the side effects. The mRNA vaccine is not some mysterious experiment. This vague moral hand wringing about children's medical choices would effectively hobble pediatric medicine if it were to catch on

And if your timeline for acceptability is years down the road, then guess what? We don’t know what the long-term effects of COVID-19 will be either, although we have a hell of a lot more evidence of long Covid than we do for “long vaccine.”
Among vaccine skeptics, it’s an article of faith that Covid isn’t a big deal for kids but that we can’t be sure about the safety profile of vaccines until we have 50 years of data. Well, which is it? Do we or don’t we need 50 years of data before we can come to a conclusion?

we know enough about the side effects for the fda to approve it, yes. What we don’t know is the long term effects on fertility. It’s affecting menstrual cycles so you can’t rule it out. I’m not saying we should halt development due to some risk that’s hard to predict anyway. I’m not saying delay the vaccine if your kid has comorbidities. I am just echoing dr Cody, who said not all children need it but let’s approve it anyway.

Just came back from round 3. As an educator I was eligible for a booster. I've had two rounds of Pfizer and one of Moderna.

Dr Cody Meissner (FDA advisor): We don't know the side effects... It won't prevent infection... This vaccine should be available to eager parents with concerns but I'm worried if we say yes then states are going to mandate this vaccine to go to school and I don't agree with that... until we get more info.
FDA approves it anyway.
I am not necessarily questioning his comments on the topic, but if I were the FDA, I'd probably be telling this guy to STFU if he wants to keep being an FDA advisor. His comments totally undermine the FDA approval, IMO.
The FDA doesn’t mandate drugs, they approve them. There is no conflict of interest. They approve all sorts of drugs you may never wish to use. They also regulate cigarettes and Flaming Hot Cheetos.

but the fact that he’s willing to say it out loud despite the risk to his career strengthens his credibility to me.

Of course it strengthens his credibility. This was a FDA panel, not some Alex Jones podcast. Would a doctor in his position have said something he knew was controversial if he didn’t believe it? Of course not, he has nothing to gain.
He voted yes despite his public reservations about the mandate. His Yes is worth more because of it.
