etc....
This ended up being a minor debacle. The first replacement had same problem as the other so had to send it back.

Got them replaced and now they're all installed and working... not sure I'd recommend these to anyone. As far as I could tell with my extremely limited understanding of how to trace a circuit (and these barely even qualify) I'm pretty sure the problem was broken or defective input jacks. The place I bought them from let on that they have known this to be a thing.

Yeah, it's not a great sign when their glamour shot has a visible (potential) short due to solder debris.

Wow, nice catch. Probably isn't noticed by most folks visiting the web site but unmistakable once pointed out. Indicative of failures on several levels (manufacturing, quality control, marketing review, etc.).

yeah SUPER good catch

when I was troubleshooting this on my own & I was tracing it w/ a tester, the connections showed open on the jacks themselves on spots that showed closed when compared to the one working unit I had. Since I had two that were not working I probably could have determined which jacks were not defective and swapped them but since I was also not in any rush to get this up-and-running, I just went ahead and did the replacement.

A 1929 Steinway B.
Completely rebuilt action, restrung, perfect soundboard.
First thing I'm going to do is eat a steak on it.

Hahaha I have their refinishing procedure if you ever need to remove the steak marks, but why would you.

A film and TV production studio here in Toronto is being renovicted and is clearing out some of their older rack stuff prior to moving into a new space. I've always liked these oft-maligned Drawmers and picked up this pair for less than a single one sells for used here (~1000USD). Some scratchy pots and burnt out VUs, but everything seems to work ok. I'm looking forward to hearing drums through them.

Aftermarket Jazzmaster body. Exciting, not really.
