I'm pretty sure that you'd need to "TIVO" the radio to get things to line up, not the TV. Right?

I was going to set up a digital delay on my stereo for this purpose. But I'm too lazy.

Hah good one, that of course is exactly right since I can't FF a live event now can I :) no matter how many Tivos I had.

I actually have 45 minutes of pause on my sirius radio, but the fed fuckers wont let XM/Sirius merge since they hate howard stern. (XM has MLB ) Something about this proposed XM Sirius merger has set the record for longest review time evAR for any merger?

Its 2 fucking sat radio ... combined they are what 0.3% of the radio market?

On another note, V-Tek's voice absolutely does not match his body. When I hear him talk its like WTF? who let the 16 year old w/ the cracking voice in the building

Lowell sounds like a smooth talking ladies man, but then you find out he married his HS sweetheart... awwww

Apparently this trade is close to happening.

Rays get: Matt Garza, Jason Bartlett, and Juan Rincon

Twins get: Delmon Young, Brendan Harris, Jason Pridie

I still don't know how I feel about this. It looks like Pridie can hit when he's healthy. But he still doesn't have much of a track record. I guess Harris is serviceable, but I think Bartlett's better. Delmon Young is much needed in this lineup, but if Santana's getting traded Garza needs to stay.

This is such a huge trade if it happens and I have no opinion on it either way.

delmon young /drool

a 'potential' upgrade for most teams in the MLB for a corner OF spot in terms of bang for the buck.

I thought the yanks would make a push for him or someone similar but it looks like dumping J. Damon will be hard for them. Who wants a corner OF w/ a wet noodle arm? Or I guess Damon could play 1b?

Well, at least he managed to refrain from doing it in a White Sox-specific thread or refer to Bill Simmons.

Anyhow, since apart from Ma & Mo, the Twins can't seem to develop any sort of power hitter, and having excess pitching, this makes sense for them. And with the D'Rays having an excess of hitters without positions and could use more pitching, this makes sense for them. This is what trading is all about.

Actually, here's a Boston connection for you:

They're virtually out of the Santana sweepstakes. Epstein was offering Lester or Buccholz along with Coco Crisp. Obviously, the Twins didn't bite on that low-ball and wanted Ellsbury instead. Pridie's 2nd half numbers look really good after getting healthy, and he's probably MLB to start in CF in 08. Therefore, Jason Pridie puts the Red Sox out of the running for Santana unless they can somehow manage to dig up a serviceable 3B in the 7 days.

Otherwise, it looks like the Hughes/Cano/and low prospect for Santana happens by the end of the winter meetings.

Cant fucking win w/ you midwesterners can I? I am not a yankees fan, I did not even fucking mention boston, even tho the thread is MLB playoffs 2007, gee which team was the big winners of MLB playoffs 07...

I mention the Yanks briefly about the potential trade someone else brought up and the pile on starts... Even the bill simmons hate comes out (he has a great article about his 2 yr old daughter btw on espn.com/page2 if you can stomach articles about 2 yr olds. I only managed because it was about the NBA;) )

whats next are one of you going to start telling me how Bill Belicheck ruined the NFL if I mention the St. Louis rams?

Lighten the fuck up cowboys, my friends warned me the midwest was uptight and had no sense of humor, I had hoped he was exaggerating, but w/ pussy freak outs like this, you have to wonder if the midwest really is full of defensive inferiority complex republicans ;)

Seriously - cowboy up brahs

Hughes/Cano is a sweet package anyway (if NY is really doing to dump Hughes and Cano, they must know something bad about those 2 no one else does?), no way lester/Coco compares w/ that. Lester is a tough kid and a great story, but I've never heard anyone go ga ga over his stuff or his ability to throw strikes.

Cano can hit for power and average, Coco has neither.
