Nah. Overt bigotry is tied to their entire brand now, and is inherently part of the draw for the whole crop of young GOP operates. Like, if you're not an explict bigot and you just want small government or war or whatever you can just be a conservative dem.

The one thing that I think might change is that everyone knows that they overstepped on abortion.
This will be interesting because Trump seems to be unstoppably fixated on running again, which could make a fantastic shit show for all of them.
Trump will run again, and he will almost certainly win the GOP primary. There's no one who isn't either tied to him or otherwise really weak on the GOP bench, and his hold over the direction of the party is not going to break before 2024.
I also suspect the first two years of the Biden administration is about as progressive as it's going to get around here for some time. Basically I'm thinking centrists and lovers of the status quo are about to be a little happier.
Depends how the senate shakes out honestly.

DeSantis' victory message (he's going to destroy the woke!) was pretty sinister stuff. His entire brand is attacking the enemy within, which is basically all y'all. What a positive vision for the country. Let's crush our neighbours, stomp down the kids and refuse to get along. 60% of Floridans say: yum yum more of that please. Looks like Florida won't be turning blue til it's underwater.

The only potentially fun thing is that Trump seems to want to start a war with DeSantis now.

To paraphrase Bill Clinton, "it depends on what the definition of backfired is." Trump's chaos provided more cover than a Hillary Clinton presidency could have. Remember, neither party can stay in power too long or people will realize that they are worse than useless, so they have to keep going back and forth, pretending like they're doing something when they're accomplishing fuck-all except campaigning for the next thing and making billions for the people who sell the media (from paper flags to primetime TV) of the electoral circus. If Hillary Clinton was president she'd have to do something, but with Trump elected (sort of) she can sell books and talk shit about Bernie on Howard Stern and everyone else can run around like chickens with their heads cut off for 4 years, trying to cope with Trump's clownshow. I tell ya if I didn't give a shit about poor people or anyone else, I'd rather lose a presidential election. I don't think she or her peers give a shit, at least not on a strategic level. However I'm sure her self-esteem was wounded by losing (sort of) to Trump, but she's been publicly humiliated by her own husband to the extent that I think she has either the resilience or the masochism necessary to survive the loss.

I've been saying for a while he's more dangerous than Trump in many ways. Even Trump was kind of promoting vaccines after a while while this ex jock asshole was yelling at students for wearing masks. Ultimate fight the libs, culture war stuff.

Yes, results were much better than expected.

Shout out in particular to anyone in Pennsylvania, Georgia, Nevada, or Arizona that didn't vote for their Republican candidate for US Senate.
