The only time in my life I ever came close to trading punches with a woman was in Milwaukee about 25 years ago. I slipped coming down the downtown courthouse steps with my hands in my coat pockets and fell flat on my back. A woman coming up the steps bent at the waist, pointed, and just started braying with laughter. I got to my feet and told her, "I'll be sober tomorrow but you'll still be a cunt." Her friends had to physically hold her back from coming at me, and with dress shoes on and the ice I would have had to flat-out defend myself against her.

Glad you're okay!

I slipped on an ice-covered wooden bridge while jogging through a park a few years ago. Landed flat on my back. My head hit the ground, but I had a stocking cap on, which cushioned the blow. I just got up and continued running.
"Whatever happened to that album?"
"I broke it, remember? I threw it against the wall and it like, shattered."

This is a bad move. You gotta buy gloves or live with cold fingers. It isn't how I broke off all my front teeth, but it's how most people who break off all their front teeth do it. Also, historic exceptions to building codes for old buildings, so they can continue to have monumental stone steps with no handrail? Fuck that shit. That is for the wastebin of history.

my 20 year old college soccer player son went for a training run on Monday night. Slipped and fell on ice and broke his ankle. (yes he is an idiot) Luckily we saw the orthopedic doc the next day, and he is having surgery today. He was supposed to return to college this weekend. He may miss the first week or so of school and of course the whole soccer thing is all fucked up. Luckily soccer is fall sport.

Oh, and i nearly curbed myself walking upstairs in a parking garage with my hands in my pockets, so my rule now is "never have both hands in pockets when going up stairs."
