Fleishman is in Trouble is on my list

Totally agree on the overt weirdness of Southside, but I'm still onboard.

This was great BTW. Not actually a comedy at all aside from some humorous points in early episodes.. got ahead of myself there. In fact the whole story flips, which I somewhat expected but not to the degree it did. Clever.

I'll still root for it but the story lines are getting a little kooky for me.

I turned on Netflix to finally watch something on it and stumbled upon a norwegian film "Troll" about a troll waking up and leaving a mountain he was in. I was thinking/hoping it will be some myth based imaginative stuff like Del Toro's work or at least something different from what I used to because Norway. In the first scene a young girl saw troll faces in beutifually framed mountains and I thought "wow, this might be good". Turned out to be a stock Roland Emmerich film, I've turned it off after 45 minutes. The troll looked superb, though.

Maybe check out Trollhunter instead? Pretty entertaining found footage take on the idea.

Trollhunter was great! Absolutely loved it.

All Jacked Up and Full of Worms is one of those slimy drugged-out film watching experiences that failed to leave a lasting impression. Like, sure, ingesting psychotropic worms - that look like regular earthworms - by any way imaginable seems exciting, but I think I broke my transgressive cinema bone long ago. Disgust me with something unique. It definitely has its moments though.

If that's what you are looking for I strongly encourage you to check out Border (2018) from Sweden. You also might like Lamb (2021).

Absolutely loved this show.

Had a moment early on when I was thinking Claire Danes was like 10 years older than Jesse Eisenberg, then went and remembered that oh yeah, she was actually high school aged when playing a high school student on My So-Called Life, and she's only four years older than Eisenberg.

Me too. It was so good. I think the words "transcending the genre" came to mind. Great character psychology. It gave me the sense of how people are right, at least from there perspectives, so it requires extraordinary empathy and patience to pull off a fraught enterprise like a marriage.

I liked this quite a bit. At age 50, going through some shit like that right now, it hit close to home.
