Am supposed to fly into DCA in two months. Maybe I should take the train instead.
That might be a good idea. I don't want to be alarmist, but in addition to all the shit going on day-to-day, the NTSB is going to be on site for a while. Two months? I dunno, maybe. The train is a nice way to travel - lounge car.

I see tweets that push back against "libs" mocking callingly things woke or DEI like this one: https://x.com/tracewoodgrains/status/18 ... 5244460398

But this is just a tangent? Also, Trump was president for four years already and didn't attempt to resolve this hiring crisis either. It's pretty clear even at this stage that the passenger jet pilots and ATC were both performing their jobs correctly, and it was the helicopter pilot who made the tragic error.

It is amazing that shit like Morton Downey Jr. and Wally George became mainstream Republicanism in the 21st century. I believe they just did it disengenuously for their own enrichment - like Trump - but without the power.
We're headed for social anarchy when people start pissing on bookstores.

I just skipped through Trump’s press conference.

Any normal person would have to resign for the 15 mins of pure madness he spouted.

He even managed to get in a “blacks and Hispanics voted for Trump live never before” in a press conference about a national tragedy and called Mayor Pete “bullshit”.

Unbelievable

It's always a hiring crisis, and never failure to compensate properly. Same shit in the fields as in the towers.

They want freedom of commerce, but the second a person want to put their labor into the marketplace, it gets regulated in every fucking way. You want to sell your labor to the US from Mexico? Yeah, go fuck yourself. You wanna get paid properly for the insane stress of air-traffic? Yeah, go fuck yourself.

You are correct on this part, but not in the way you are implying.

My youngest kid (now 16) assumed at a young age that they were supposed to grow up to be a woman and marry a man. Around their tween years, they were extremely moody, depressed, and questioning whether they wanted to live because they were having feelings that were very different than this. They opened up to us and we responded with support and love. They have been much happier and positive since then because they are comfortable with and are able to be themselves.

NOT giving gender-affirming care is putting these kids' lives at risk.
actually that is what I meant, almost exactly.
Our kids are the same age. So I can say with certainty u did right thing. Your Home is a safe space.
Thanks for opening up. I support you.

This is an interesting take on AI and totally relevant in the politics thread. The gist of it is that China really has the upperhand when it comes to the looming trade wars and it may be no coincidence that Deepseek was recently released, of which (if you haven't paid attention to it) totally fucked up the NASDAQ and sent stocks into a near trillion dollar spiral.

Shit like this is why I’m not a pacifist. They are being sentenced to torture, rape, and death by Trump. I don’t know how much longer I can take this awful fucking world
this policy is a direct result of a society that doesn't care about prison rape.
even the guards and wardens don't care about it. why should the voters?
the only solution is don't go to jail.
