Today while record shopping, my girlfriend called me...

"Can you come pick me up? We need to take Muffy (her cat) to the ER."

Traffic was ridiculous...I picked her up, we drove to the Pet ER by Electrical; while stuck at a red light, muffy died in my girlfriend's arms.

She was old and spent her life around people that loved her... it was painless and she was held by someone who loved her deeply.

Aw, this made me laugh out loud.

She had been sick for a while, but functioning, until about a month ago, when she took a divebomb for the worse. In days, a woman who had never sat down for more than five minutes at a time was relegated to being helped into bed and eating orzo soup and Gatorade.

We were not as close as we could have been, given my resistance to socialize with dad's "new" family, but the times I did see her, she and I got along swimmingly.

She was a kickass lady, an excellent cook, and I only hope that when I am in my 80's, as she was, that I have even half her energy.

Salut, Ann. You were one of the good ones. I will miss you, and your biting sense of humor.

Aw. Rest In Peace, those who make our lives better.

The cashier at Arby's was named "Lolitha".

Lolitha?!!

Is that short for Doloreth?

Did she spend part of her adolescence with a man named "Pimp Diddlah H. Hummy Shizzle"?

So strange, Lolitha...

Today, I found my next great vice.

Reed's Green Tea Ginger Ice Cream.

1140 calories and $4.29 a pint.

Fuck. I guess I'm going to have to cut non-ice cream foods out of my diet.

I've been riding the bus to work, then riding my bike home, for the last week or so. My car had a bad oil leak and it's been in the shop.

Yesterday as I was leaving work, the rear tire on my bike was completely flat. My air pump wouldn't fill it up. This was just after hearing I needed another $200.00 in repairs on my car.

Today I borrowed my girlfriend's Schwin cruiser. I could not find a wrench so that I could raise the seat, and my girlfriend is quite a bit shorter than me.

On my way to work, my security badge fell on the ground at some point. I had to get a new one made this morning.

Luckily I've been doing reports all day, so I put on my headphones and listened to It Takes A Nation of Millions To Hold Us Back for the first hour of my day. That helped.

Sitting at my desk, listening to Metal Machine Music.

Photo majors all coming by to say hello, or "pay tribute" as my co-worker calls it.

It's good to be back.
