I went for a nap four hours ago promising myself that I'd get up within an hour to get back to work. Three and a half hours later, my nap finishes, I get up, furious, looking for someone to punch. Unfortunately, I only have myself.

So I've just eaten about 70g of 70% Lindt chocolate instead, which seemed fair.

Yesterday, I went for a swim on an open air barge moored on the river. It was strange and great to swim surrounded by some serious looking bohos on a makeshift promenade and big, ugly warehouses, loud industrial noise occasionally wafting over.

Graffiti for the (other) day on Schlesichestr:

CRACK BOYS
CRACK GIRLS

UNITE!

I just picked up my first proper decent suit, which was being altered. Damn, I look hot.

I have a band member in the hospital getting some sort of flesh eating infection dug out of his arm so it doesn't fall off. It was gushing copious amounts of foul smelling green pus yesterday.

Practice tonight and two shows this weekend- CANCELED.

This is not the first such infection. There's been an outbreak amongst the gutter punk/drunk punk community here. AGAIN.

I am thinking of no longer calling the crusty punx here "bike punks," but just referring to them as "staph punks" from now on.

Bathing: NOT CRAP.

Fuck. I guess I'm going to have to cut non-ice cream foods out of my diet.

Indeed!

I can only hope that this is not a widely available product, and that I'll never find it in local stores.

So is your bandmate crusty or does he just rub elbows with the locals?

JEZUZ!!

DFTR, are you for real? I mean, obviously you're a drummer but I've noticed some things about you that seem most "UN-drummer":

1) bought bitchin', NEW kit! (no complaints of the price??? wtf?)
2) thinking of buying band van!
3) are not to blame for the cancellation of practice and TWO shows?!
4) well-spoken and impressive grammar paired with good sentence structure?

Either you're a terrible drummer or you haven't hit bottom in your "experimentation" with the white-drugs, eh?

That kit though. She is so nice.

Today the electrical staff had lunch from the weiners circle.

I have no idea why, and i'm full of regret (and horrible food). I guess you really have to be Foster Brooks drunk to enjoy that shit.

Yes.

Seriously, though... Athens is a small place. We all kind of mix together.

As far as I am aware... yes.

I might have mentioned it once or twice here, but I was the drummer for the Psychedelic Furs on their US tour this year, because Hugo Burnham from Gang of Four had to pull out at the last minute (his father was very ill). Hugo and I have been friends for a very long time (since he refused to sign my old band back in the '90s. Oddly, this drew us closer, since he saved us both LOADS of misery.), so he called me and said "Can you fill in for me?"

I actually really like the Furs and was huge fan back when El Protoolio was giving River Phoenix his first line of blow, so it was a pretty cool experience. AND it paid like being a hooker around the corner from the Vatican.

I am now spending the money willy nilly, as it were.

You forgot option three: I'm kinda old. Like, late-30s old, so I have kind of gotten the kinks ironed out of the making money thing and my powder drugs phase is mostly behind me. Everyone's happier that way.

That kit though. She is so nice.

I know! All I want to do is play my new drums. I was really looking forward to playing it in front of some PEOPLE this weekend.

As long as I get through the weekend still have a two-armed guitarist, all will be well.

SALUT to all drummers who have their shit together, particularly you, sir!

Your description reminds me of these pictures which in turn make me want to read some James Agee.

Dontfeartheringo, you are the guy who had (has?) a blog about fixing up an old Dodge Dart. Correct?
