I've been to some pretty terrible shows. The worst acts in the past year though, were probably (off the top of my head):

A Static Lullaby - great musicians, TERRIBLE singer. I stayed to watch the drummer though.
Underoath - really bad hardcore band, i walked across the street and saw some metal cover band
Cursive - at Numbers in Houston, the singer did his lame retard-laugh in every song. Walked out.
The Motion - Some opening act for explosions in the sky... "rock n' roll"

Other honorable mentions: Dream of Radio (or something like that), The Stereo, The Lawrence Arms.

There's so many terrible bands in my town, too many to mention.

Here's a few I can think of quickly:

These Arms Are Snakes (Why? Why? Kill Sadie were so good! Why did you become assholes and start playing shitty music?)

Errortype:11 (Imagine if you will, a band that combines the worst elements of the Foo Fighters and Hootie, and then tours the punk circuit unde the guise of being an "emo-core" or whatever band.)

Amulet (Did anyone else see these assholes open for Turbonegro? The whole time they were playing I kept thinking "Is this a joke?')

Dirty Birds (I fuckin' hate rockabilly fashion and posturing.)

Division Of Laura Lee (I wanna give these guys another chance, 'specially because their "Black City" record was so good, but you know you're in trouble when the fucking Catheters blow you offstage.)

This may offend some people on this list, but seeing Arab on Radar in Zagreb a couple years ago was one of the shows that made me want to quit going out to see the shows. The stupid David Yow stage appearance impersonation of the singer that makes castrates sound like real men, and especially the Travis Bean player that kept messing with the cable, and finally blew his stack of 10 horns. Apparently, the music wasn't so bad, but the whole show smelled really bad of trying to recreate the u.s. maple show, and the singer was really disgusting. And yes, they weren't prepared for the kind of fame they received. Later on I saw the singer's other band which name I don't remember (I think it's Chinese stars). They were even worse. I really can't decide between these two.It is not a very postive attitude, but I think that people sholdn'tb try to make music without a very good reason behind it, and attitude towards themselves.
I think that such childish bullshit doesn't really warrant the mention.

The Lawrence Arms

They were the first (well, third counting Fairview Drive and Lucky Boys Confusion) band I ever saw... i was thirteen, and really impressed, but had i seen them more recently my opinion may have been different.

That reminds me, though, i saw Lucky Boys Confusion right after their firsts U.S. tour, and they put on a really horrendous show. i also saw a "punk rock band" consisting entirely of 7th graders at some dingy bar once, and it was completely unlistenable-- in the bad sense.
if i got lasik surgery on one eye, i could wear a monacle.

TV On The Radio sound like Monster Magnet. I have given that damn ep at least 4 full listens and still cant dig it at all. The Mr Grieves cover is good as novelty, but why all the fuss? Fuck man there are plenty of new bands that are a hell of a lot better and these bitches are getting WAY too much attention. I can't wait til they put out a god awful debut LP and people shut up about them.
