as far as rock music in the last twenty years goes, my vote is for damon che. john theodore in his "golden" days gets a close second.

elvin is awesome and should get a mention but is by no means the best

buddy rich is definitely the best drummer. anyone who has actually watched some of the old footage of him will agree with this. he was pretty much untouchable in some of his stuff.

dave weckyl and dennis chambers would probably round out my top 3. steve gadd should be mentioned as well.

He's great, but I think Jon Smith (Aasee Lake, Guilt) had him beat. How about ol' Will Chatham from Crain? Fantastic drummer. Probably not the best ever though.
