So great is this show. So many moments of genius. The burn victim that loves Titanica, "the Joke the Musical," that one with the scientist that's the nerd in the group of scientists and ends up having sex with the playful cartoon animals, and so many more that I can't remember at this moment. Having it on dvd is dangerous, because I've watched it to the point of hating it.

How about the Tenacious D show?

loved mr show, watched it religiously, had the bootleg vhs tapes, then got the dvds... thought almost everything about it was hilarious (hello wycked sceptor), even accidentally called out hbo to one of the mr show producers (while just asking about an episode) after watching one on hbo comedy (this was maybe 5 yrs ago) who apparently weren't paying mr show the royalties for showing them... or even telling them. anyway, then came run ronnie run, which i am sad to say, has ruined mr show for me for a very long time. it's funny how one bomb like that can do it for you but... god damn, that was one helluva bomb and now i am not totally sure if i can trust them. even bob.

I think I mentioned somewhere else on these forums that a band I played in opened up for a Mr. Show DVD in Memphis.

Someday scientists will be able to test for this gene -- people like Bradley and Tim will get better insurance rates because they will be less likely to die laughing at Mr. Show, unlike people like me!

The first time the busking opera singer was on that show was probably the most I've ever laughed at a television set.

I also knew one of the blokes who was a mugging squirrel. Here he is on the occasion of the Queen's Golden Jubilee as an executioner.

I consider myself a severe Mr. Show fan. They took sketch comedy to a level that really wasn't happening, and still isn't. The characters were the absurd part of people you know, the situations were often based on something you've been a part of, but twisted in a way that the viewer probably didn't expect, keeping it interesting, and the overall show's editing was, and still is, utterly unique and flowing. (This could be Tim's issue for not diggin it, but whatever) I recommend that you go and rent the DVD and watch an episode in its entirety. It comes full circle from beginning to end, cleverly inserting a theme throughout.

I know that you used to be able to rent them for free at certain video stores in the community section, alongside those free, afterschool special type videos. This could have been the pre-DVD TV show boom, but its worth looking into. Or if you have Netflix, queue it.

SCTV is my gold standard for sketch comedy. I started watching it when it was still on Canadian TV w/no laugh track. It formed much of my sense of humor. I buy all the box sets as they come out.

Chappelle's Show, often hilarious. Watched every episode.

Kids in the Hall, I liked. I thought some of it was great. Watched many episodes.

I like Monty Python pretty well. Not a huge fan, don't go out of my way to watch it, but I like it.

Saturday Night Live has always been hit or miss, except that period in the mid-80s when it was pure miss. I haven't watched it regularly for a long time.
