I have witnessed with my own two eyes many females completely slay their male counterparts off the stage.
for instance
Cristina from Boss Hog
Sarah Lund
The aforementioned Mary Timony.
Kathryn Muselik
the singer from Blonde Redhead
etc. etc. etc.
Fuck, even the singer from Rainer Maria, a band I have little interest in, brought it when I saw them.
matthew, you need to leave your parents basement, enjoy some time in the real world.

You are entitled to you opinion in this regards, just as I am.
I saw Helium years ago...they did not rock my world. She's a space cadet, Mary Timony is.
Even Rainer Maria, who I like despite their really oft times goofy lyrics, did not rock my world the times I've seen them. Not that they were bad, but there was something missing.

When women do attempt to it, it is akin to powderpuff football.......the male spectators are just checkin' out the tits and ass, not the music.....and I suppose the dykes are too.
Notice I am saying rock and roll in exclusion to other types of music. Sure ladies can do other types of music very well...and often even better than their male counterparts. But aggressive rock and roll-type music?................sorry Charlene.
Ooooohhhh, Matty's so mean and chauvinist and backward, you think? No, I'm just realistic.
OK, I'm sorry I argued with you. you got me. you're an internet 'character.' I should have seen it. you're not real.
I totally fell for it.
kerble is right.

The irony of all this is totally lost on you, isn't it, Mr. Kerble?
Ah what a world....I think I have finally dipped into the Fondu Pot of Cynicism at last...after trying to avoid it for so long.
I think I'll go away for awhile from this forum. I'll post again on November 21 of this year. Mark your calendars.

46Plenty of good suggestions for ladies who rock here, though I haven't seen drummer Heather Dunn listed at all. Not a flashy drummer at all, but hard-hitting and groovy. Definitely rocking.
Also, Libby Fabricatore was the rehearsal drummer for the Branca sessions in Montclair, and she was mighty. I was reminded of John Stanier.

dear matthew,
here's hoping that the ghost of wendy o williams doesn't come to you in the night and shish kebab your eyeballs with her stilettos.
this is, in fact, the reason that i posted this thread in the first place. unfortunately, a musically very well-informed friend of mine made a matthew-like statement, perhaps by mistake, or perhaps because it's a more poopular opinion than some dudes want to admit. so i thought i'd come to a place where i knew that somebody would know better.
i hate these kinds of male vs female conversations, BUT more than that i hate the boob-heads who remind me that it's still an issue.
thanks to everyone else.

You deserve credit for subtlety. Sure, it's probably a typo, but it's a good one. Kudos.
