The reason for the second season slip was Lynch was away making WILD AT HEART, so there's a dip in quality for the whole middle of that season, though it comes back to form at the end, when Lynch hurls the show into the metaphysical.

I love the first season. The first few episodes of the second season are not bad. But that last episode...ugh. Please tell me that Fire: Walk With Me is better than that.

First of all, I love the final episode. I can not imagine your strange dissapointment in it.

Secondly, why in the world is the second season still unavailable on dvd? Jeez!

This happened with my beloved Pete and Pete season 3 as well!

I wish I could tell you that, but I'd be lying. The first hour or so or Fire: Walk With Me Is brilliant. The rest is tolerable, but not even close to the brilliance of the first act.

I was 10 when this first aired on tv in the UK. I can't be sure why i was so intrigued and why i felt an obsessive need to watch it from episode one. I had to either beg to stay up or just plain sneak a tv somehow. This was difficult being that it was not only on a school night, but mondays! The hardest night to stay up late for any kid.
I watched every episode, alone. I had absolutely terrifying, cold-sweat, screaming nightmares for the 6 nights following each episode, then on the following monday i would re-start the whole horrifying cycle again.

Best tv show ever.

i love this show. our band wrote a song in ode to mike and bob, all words taken right from the show, except for the last line:

One Armed Man and Bob

if you're a real fan, you will find the bass line in the "middle part" amusing. or not.
