Here's the first thing of a couple things... This is a little 34min doc about USM recording Acre Thrills. Sorry for the compression, but I had to crush the shit out it to get in on YouTube. A couple smaller things to follow, maybe this weekend.

Acre Thrills

I'd be very interested to know what you think...

Thanks

Tony

Ok, here's the last of what I have...

"Magic Job" intro to "Ma, Digital" & "Babe" - Live

"Breeze, It's You're High School" & "Go To Bruises" - Live

"Chang, You're Attracive"

Oh, and I've created a playlist that has all the USM stuff that I've uploaded. Hope you enjoy...

More of a bump than an update, but tentatively:

USM is planning a handful of shows for the purpose of this project. Most likely they will be in early to mid January, dates and cities TBD.

As I mentioned before I have a lot of video stuff around the Acre Thrills era and now, since starting this project, have acquired a lot of live footage around the Sang Phat era. I have only 1 poor quality Long Hair era show and still no Talker stuff yet (pending identification of 2 shows). Anyone out there knowing the existence of video around Long Hair and\or Talker, please let me know.

Also, I'm looking for still photographs, specifically for a show USM didn't play in Oklahoma City. In 2001 or 2002 USM was scheduled to play at VZD's in Crown Heights. They were too inebriated to play, but didn't realize it until half way through the first song when Al fell off the stage, stumbled out of the club and passed out on the sidewalk in front of the place. Al says the last thing he remembers is a guy standing over him taking flash photos of him and he would really like to know what those shots look like.

I contacted the club via e-mail (not that I really expected them to know who was taking photos that night, but it is the only lead I have), but no response yet. Anyone in the EA community from around OK that might know about who may have these images? Please let me know.

Thanks again to all.

Tony

EDIT: According to Shippy, the show at VZD's was in May of 2004. Anyone recall it? They tried to make restitution a couple months later by playing there again, but no one showed up...

Another bump

USM has recently entered the Myspace arena. Not much there yet, but some photos. Just an FYI.

What's the latest word on this project? Anyone heard of any shows lined up?

Ran into Mark a few weeks back. it was nice to catch up. US Maple is kinda still on hiatus, as Al lives in dubuque. Mark had a lot of good things to say about Hardeye Films and how he sat on the armrest of a van for ten hours to film the band. Mark is playing in a duo called Magic Lanterns that just played it's first few shows. they were supposed to tour in January, but now they don't even have any avails up on the billions site. more hemming and hawing as usual.
