Quote of the day:
Liam then told Canadian Chart Magazine that were they not booked, they'd love to play Live 8. "I'd love to. Y'know why I'd love to do that gig?" he said. "First of all, it's fucking awareness and all that stuff. I just love to go on and do four fucking songs and really fucking rip it up. Come in and fucking bang it with fucking four of your classics. And then walk off, and fucking flick Robbie Williams in the eye and say: 'Follow that you dick!'"

43Crap. But man, the Mike Flowers Pops version of "Wonderwall" is the shit. I nearly split my sides the first time I heard it.

44Someone just reminded me of this craptastic band. Awful band and total asshole twats to boot. Seems like they kind of kicked off the whole retro rock thing. WF of .0001 for that "Where Were You When Getting High" song which I have fond memories for for some unknown reason.
There are crispy fries waiting to come out of your oven: you just have to make them and put them there.

but if i'm going to give r.e.m. a 'crap,' i have to give oasis a pretty firm crap
most of the 'album tracks' i have heard are dreadful
they just managed to cobble a couple together at one point
I heard a great Oasis album track.
Or maybe "great."
"Some Might Say" off the What's the Story Morning Glory album.
Hmmm. Lyrics, not so much, but it's a fine song all in all.

Hey! I'm with Loretta here. My favourite coke-head record of all time.

47All I know (or want to know) of this band are the handful of singles I hear(d) on the radio now and again. They sound(ed) good, particularly for the 1990's. On the basis of "Wonderwall" et al: not crap.

Some Might Say was a single in Britain. Their first number one.

49i'm trying to find words to describe the sensation of reading senor tmidgett estol the virtues of oasis in this thread.
i'd compare it very loosely to hearing your elderly mother admitting to a fondness for anal sex.
i toured with a band from los angeles more than once who were enamoured by this band to a ridiculous extent. i don't dislike them because they are british. i dislike them because they write and perform such dreadful songs. still, in the days of coldplay and hard fi, give me an oasis song any day of the week i suppose.

50The lyrics are awful.
The music usually isn't.
NOT CRAP
I proudly own 4 of their albums.
