I think he just did backing vocals on the Deviate Beyond All Means of Capture EP -
Skull Kontrol: Kim Thompson (vocals, bass); Chris Thomson (vocals); Andy Coronado (guitar); Brooks Headly (drums, maracas). Additional personnel: Rick Froberg (background vocals).

Rick has a new band called Obits. Supposed to be a cross between Hot Snakes and Creedence. You can download a recording of their first show here.

Suicide Invoice is stellar. my brother, a huge RFTC fan, gave me his copy years ago because he wasn't into it?

i don't get it either...

didn't care for Obits after one quick listen though.

Jehu - goes without saying. there is a Hot Snakes/Jehu C/NC around here somewhere...

I am ashamed that I didn't find out about these guys until recently as I absolutely love Jehu. I own Suicide Invoice and Automatic Midnight so far.

NOT CRAP

Figures. I mean, I can't get into Rocket. Got nothing against 'em, just... meh.

I'm aware of Obits. Gave 'em a quick listen and I'm not too sure... naturally I'll buy whatever they put out, but I'm not holding out too much hope.

Looking forward to the Night Marchers album - have avoided hearing anything by them so far so it'll be fresh when I get it.

So has anyone actually heard these 'Skull Kontrols'?

Are you high? You've heard of Hot Snakes and not Skull Kontrol? Hmmmm...
