Shambroom's stuff is the real deal (as far as I know). No photoshoppery to be had. I'm sure he's just using normal strobes and the like. He really does get clearance from the government to shoot at nuclear weapons facilities.

I was recently at MOMA, and his Toyota/Toy's 'R' Us picture was a definite standout. That said, I can't seem to find it on the web.

Shameless plug for my friend James. (But I really am a big a fan of his work.) His pictures of the ravages of war in Bosnia are haunting. He went there at a mere 19 years of age to photograph the war and then returned to the same area 10 years later to capture how the residents were coping with the long-term consequences of the Serbian ethnic cleansing.
