And it is. I really wish television, shopping, driving, and praying, were enough. Then I would be in exactly the right place and my world would rock. Unfortunately I am cursed with an imagination and emotions and senses and a fucking soul (for lack of a better term). Without music and other creative outlets the tedium and stupidity of this life/world would be too much.

Rock musicians don t change the world.

To his credit, the DK's were great, and he urged everyone to "question authority." Big deal... fuck my dad told me to question authorty.

Oh his label is honest (from what I can gather)...he has that going for him.

I don't understand your post. It contradicts itself. I guess you're saying he hasn't done enough to warrant consideration. but I'm not clear.

= Justin

I think what I was trying to get at is Jello is the type of guy who always needs an enemy. He challanges authority in a way, BUT he has hardly done anything (other than to pose questions and provoke thought) in the way of creating a change. If everything went his way, HE'd have no need to do 8 spoken word albums that are invariably the same.

Compared to the others that have been mentioned, I think his contribution is somewhat pedestrian...

Its all talk, no action.

but maybe I'm being way too nearsighted.

I don't care how sad that sounds, it's the honest to god truth.

I don't listen to Fugazi that much, anymore.

I will always love them, though. Changed my life completely. The way I thought about politics, music, everything.

I love what Fugazi did for me. I was never too much of a fanboy about it. Yeah I saw The Evens a couple of times and I've heard Minor Threat/Rites of Spring. I don't care about any of that. It's not Fugazi. Fugazi changed my life.

Rock musicians don t change the world.

Please to explain: Are these rock musicians, and how did they change anything, much less than the world?

Or am I missing the point of some non-sequitors?

sequitur?

that depends on what you define as rock

Thanks for the correct spelling. The spell check function brings up a blank screen on my Mac, which I am forced to use since the cats have apparently eaten my mouse cord on my Windows PC.

For the sake of argument (I have not read this definition in depth), this article should clarify more what I define as rock:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rock_music

Specifically, I cite:

Social impacts

Social impact of rock and roll
The influence of rock and roll is far-reaching, and has had significant impact worldwide on fashion, film styles, and attitudes towards sex and sexuality and use of drugs and alcohol. This impact is broad enough that "rock and roll" may also be considered a life style in addition to a form of music.
