Don't fall for that propaganda. The resiliency of al Qaeda is not the result of poor efforts by the Pakistanis to root out al Qaeda in their country. al Qaeda, the ISI, the CIA, the taliban heroin squad: all part of the same team. al Qaeda is a manufactured enemy for the synthetic terror war. Destabilized regions demand US intervention. Somebody has to serve as the destabilizers.

I don't disagree with your characterization of the situation, but the bottom line is that -- whatever the situation may be -- the United States is pointlessly throwing away $1,000,000,000 per year. One ponders whether some budget-conscious legislators might want to exercise some oversight.

Only if you think that the US would spend a billion dollars out of a genuine desire to eradicate terrorism. The US would not. The US would give Pakistan a billion dollars so they could turn around and spend much of that on arms sold by american arms dealers, and the US would pay Musharraf and the ISI for their vital role in the paradigm of synthetic terror.

do people really think that Musharraf has made a genuine good faith effort to fight the taliban/qaeda? It was my impression that doing so would be political suicide for him. Just shows how neutered the USA has become under bush. we can't strong arm anybody.

oh, by the way, what the fuck is going on in palestine? we are willing to funnel money to the corrupt fatah to counter hamas/iran/syria. what a joke.

our foreign policy is a joke.

He had to walk the line between allowing the ISI to support al Qaeda and the Taliban ( so the US could cultivate it as an adversary for the terror myth ), and he was forced to show progress in defeating the Taliban, so the US congress would not balk at the aid packages. Quite a tightrope. It makes sense that, as the terror myth is exposed as a fraud, the US proxy in the region would be the first domino to fall. Either way, the US wins. If there is a Taliban resurgence, that bodes well for the promotion of the clash of civilizations. It is very good news for the military industrial complex, because it will destabilize Pakistan and Afghanistan and possibly India, but also China, Iran and Tajikistan. Global Conflict!! Hurray!

'sfunny because we fucked them over for a while regarding that f-18 purchase...wait. oh, fuck.

Rick Reuben wrote:Only if you try and separate the good guys and bad guys the way that they are advertised, or the way that they appear on the surface. Hamas has been supported by Israel for forever. Egypt has also helped, as have the Saudis and the Jordanians. Israel knows that a totally radical organization next door is the best excuse they have for not going to the bargaining table and negotiating a two state solution. When the PLO began gaining mainstream legitimacy, the Israelis worked to promote Hamas.

Jesus. my problem is that I keep thinking that people are actually trying to solve the fucked up problems. like our own war, the boogie man is very conducive in controlling people. look at any nationalistic country. they all do it. japan, germany, USA, russia, etc.

Rick Reuben wrote:Unfortunately. Were the poor of the world allowed to live in peace, they would eventually collectivize across borders along class lines. That is the nightmare of the elites. The elites are always looking for new ways to aggravate ethnic or faith-based tensions to prevent such unity. The more anger, the more opportunities to arm both sides and profit from the chaos. The elites treat the world as their private ant farm. When the ants make little tunnels and caves in the ant farm and share food, the elites get upset and shake the ant farm, destroying the hard work of the ants and hopefully driving the ants into conflict amongst themselves.
