Pretty sure it's just guitar/bass/drums/vocals. Are you talking about the sound near the beginning where it sounds like dragging a pick up the strings?

The song I want to know about is Lulabelle. Bob and Steve are doing some amazing vocal imitations there. At one point they even sound just like Ken Nordine.

It sounds like ring modulated something or other, at about 2 minutes and 25 seconds into the song.

Check out Glenn Gould's "The Idea of North," or Robert Ashley's superior "Automatic Writing."

Have you noticed that all songs finish the same way on this album?

"DUN DUN!"

Is how most of them end, yeah.

Even if there's a proper ending written out, it usually always goes back to the two notes. "DUN DUN!"

It sounds like they had a lot of fun on this album, which makes it an even better album to my ears.

I wrote a comprehensive review for a zine a friend does, but he wants to start printing it on Monday and won't have to time to format the review into it...blah blah blah. I'll post it on Tuesday as to not ruin the album for everyone who hasn't heard it. Unless someone else wants to possibly publish it...whatever.
