I think she was a friend of the first band, and she left after they played. The first band was apologetic about this, if i recall correctly.

We were paid in Sparks and got to hang out with Ry, so it wasn't a total wash.

The last time Lifter Puller played in Chicago, at the Fireside Bowl, there were like 6 people in the bar and me and some girl in front of the stage. It was awkward - like they were playing just for us. (They were!) I think a couple more people wandered out to the floor at some point. I thought this girl might be my soulmate. We had no choice but to talk a little between songs. Saw her a couple times; didn't really work out. Would've been a cute "how we met" story.

Considering how awful that guy's "vocals" are, this is a credit to the city of Chicago.

I wouldn't pat Chicago on the back just yet. Didn't Burma's last Chicago show before breaking up the first time draw only 6 people?

No, they changed it because IT'S NOT REALLY CHICKEN!!

That's an urban legend. Factory farmed mutant super chicken have characteristics of vegetables, but can still be called chicken. KFC wanted to distance themselves from the fact that their food is fried and fried food gets a bad rap.

Like the pigs that eat that crap care.

I am aware of the spurious tales of genetically engineered chickens with six drumsticks and breasts so large they topple when they walk like so many avian Lolo Ferraris; I had thought that the caps and exclamation marks were sufficient to denote the facetiousosity of my statement, but guess not.

boston market is okay junk food. last time i had it was three years ago when my dad came into town for a night and none of us really felt like making food. so we got carry-out, pigged out and watched band of brothers. it's not like i expect much of these chains, and anyway i can eat at lubys cafeteria without complaining, so for what it is i can get down. their chicken is pretty tasty. would rather make this stuff at home (mac n' cheese, corn, green beans, rolls, mashed potatoes) but in an emergency issued by laziness it is good stuff.

not crap waffle 9 (their mac and cheese sucks)

I thought Mr Pollo would get big ups but not a peep
Mr Pollo is the shit, as they say.

I have yet to visit, so I have yet to try either Mr. Pollo (or Kuma's) but the continued endorsement of both is making me really hungry for Chicago.

some reviews I found:

They have absolutely delicious Ecuadorian/South American style rotisserie chicken. You can even order most of the South American sides like plantain, tostones, yuca, arroz blanco, salad and shakes. You CANNOT go wrong with anything that you order.... I have tried it ALL. If you enjoy different flavored tropical fruit shakes like I do than I recommend trying their Guanabana shake

They serve perfectly seasoned rotisserie style chicken here. I have never found it to be anything but moist and delectable. It pulls apart easily and tastes good smooshed up with their black beans and some corn or mashed potatoes and gravy!!! They also have a bevy of sides from fried plantains to pasta salad, fruit salad to french fries. You can get 1/4 of a chicken, half, or even a whole bird. They also offer beverages and smoothies, but that is where the menu ends.
