My favorite would be whichever one has "Queen Bitch" on it.

Also, This poll and Marsupialized's anecdote made me think of something: After the Velvet Underground, no rock band should have ever been allowed to use the word "velvet" in their band name. Can we all agree on this? It just strikes me as a super presumptuous move, like if you were an up-and-coming actor and you changed your surname to Bogart. Give me a fucking break! And don't try to tell me you don't know who the fuck Humphrey Bogart is either, you swine!

"Guess I'm Falling In Love"

I think somewhere on the box set is a version of that with sometimes-legible vocals.

"I got fever, in my pocket down to my shoes
Woah baby, guess I'm falling in love"
That dog won't hunt, monsignor.

I like it, but I have to be in the mood for it.

For me, The Velvet Underground is the most cohesive of their albums. It's really an album about questioning, discovery and redemption.

Yes, it's still the third one. Every time I hear opening of Candy says I feel sedated, it travels slowly through my nervous system calming me down.

the VU and Nico is close second. It excites me. It makes me crave sex.

Yup, it's Live '69. I read about it in some Orange Juice liner notes, as the album they tried hardest to rip off. I found an Italian pressing of disc one in a charity shop and played the fuck out of it, then lost my mind slightly when I found out it was supposed to be a double lp.

'What Goes On' and 'Beginning To See The Light' and the chugging, chugging, chugging guitars. I love it.
