I would not see this band. Bunch of pseudo intellectual tools that they are likely to be.

Maybe, but they'd still be less boring than the average self-righteous, lip-pierced, skate-boarding, baggy-pantsed dude I used to see at Fugazi gigs.

Oh, here comes another sing-a-long.

[quote="elisha wiesner"]tom waits.

i do not get the fascination with him. many people who's taste in music i respect love him.on two separate occasions i have been given his albums. i don't remember which ones so i'll just call them the "this will change your mind about tom waits" album and the "this album changed my life" album. both times i listened. i listened again. i gave it a while and listened some more and ended up selling the cd's. i feel like i should at least like him a little but i don't. his whole thing just seems so contrived. his voice bugs me and i don't like the songs. quote]

Amen. I feel exactly the same way. Whatever the joke is, I don't get it.

Never understood the Pixies, Archers of Loaf, Superchunk, Leonard Cohen, Leon Russel, The Damned, or Black Flag either.

I won't tip them, but I don't get them.

No.
I'd rather spend my 140 mil on about 50 Anselm Kiefers.

Okay, but I still see no reason for tippin' the Pollock. And anyway, Kiefer is a very different painter altogether, often very specific to the point of topical.

I'm just ignorant of the show. No animosity towards the Doc or the fans, but I think it's like baseball- if you don't become a fan at a young age, you most likely will never be a fan.

Or alternatively, you were a fan when you were a kid, but now you find it impossible to shake the feeling that it's, you know, for kids
