Cubs have good young middle infield, Soriano, and Veteren Power in the middle of the line up. Good young pitching that has seen no major Peaks and valleys, probably fresher arms, and they all seem like tough gamers, dont overthink, just pitch.

I remember when the Pack won it in '96, the packers were a religious following. They had the power of a 100's and 100's of thousands of prayers being hurled at them by the Catholic Packer community.

Field goals were willed into the uprites with God's broad hand and some prayers from my grandma.

God was on our side.

I understand that rationale, I just don't agree w/ it.

Since Wake isn't going to pitch, the sox have no use for Mirabelli, even less so in a short series. Mirabeli isnt even fully healthy. I am basically lamenting the fact that all reasonable back up catchers for the red sox were traded away for pennies on the dollar and Mirabelli was never that good, and is basically Wake's knuckleball catcher. He is a RHB w/ poor OPS, poor speed, and mediocre defense.

In fact i'd be shocked if Mirabelli plays in the series unless it goes 5 games or has a crazy 13 inning deal. He can occasionally hit a random HR but overall is not feared for his offense, his matchups against lefties, nor his defense. IMO its a waste of a bench player if you are going to bring Cash along as well.

I guess in a 4th game you give Tek the night off, then pinch run for Mirabelli *if* he gets on base? I'd rather start Tek 4 games then again i havent managed a world series winning team yet.

I don't disagree with any of that, and i'm sure Varitek will start every game. I just think it's good to be three deep at every position, regardless of what the position is or who those three are. Think of close games, extra innings, and/or injuries. Say the Red Sox are a run behind in the 8th or 9th, and Varitek is the tying run. Etc. . . .

Don Orsillo has the most terrifying fake tan i've ever seen. There's a commercial out here for the Red Sox team shop with him and wakefield and he basically looks like a giant balding pumpkin. Also the other guy from NESN is always piss drunk by like the 5th inning. The other week on the A's/Sox game he spent an entire inning talking about how he'd like to live on the moon...

Since the Mets decided to fucking blow it like a bunch of royal douchebags, I think a Red Sox/Phillies series would be the best out of any option. Indians are good but they're from Ohio, so who cares. Angels have that stupid "Los angeles of anahiem" name which irritates me to no end, and the Yankees are boring cunts.
