While i haven't seen the movie, a friend of mine who did spun the blowjob scene in this way: the movie was a long, boring, self-absorbed jerk-off by Gallo, and setting up a scene where he himself got his dick sucked in a movie he directed, to him, felt like the punctuation mark on that self-involvement.

On more than one occasion I've said on this forum that Vincent Gallo is a performance artist and I stand by that. If the fact that he made such a film didn't set off alarm bells that he's taking the piss, nothing ever will. I am absolutely convinced he is having a gigantic laugh at nearly everyone's expense. This poll isn't about Vincent Gallo though. It's about an actress called Chloe Sevigny.

At the end of the day, the thing that gets me is a lot of people thought that because she was filmed performing fellatio was disgraceful or demeaning. It's such a double standard. Robert De Niro puts on 20lbs for a role, he's a genius. He's 'method'. Chloe Sevigny was called upon as an actress to perform fellatio (something that happens every day, all the fucking time, everywhere in the world) and she did it because she's a professional. That's what the director, the scene, the script and the role demanded. She's not a genius though, she's just a slut. Double standard much?

It's been awhile since I've seen Kids, but that was definitely a pivotal moment. That might've been the first time I heard Slint (on the soundtrack).

I liked her in Trees Lounge, an underrated gem.

Man, Boys Don't Cry- I don't think I would ever want to see that again, but what a great movie. That's one of the few "based on a true story" movies that was seriously like watching the real thing.

Shattered Glass was good.

The stuff she's done lately is good, too--Zodiac, Big Love. Her character on that show is one that you just love to hate.
