Soldiers I have zero problem with, it would probably not be such a bad idea if everyone had to do maybe a year in one of the branches of the military right after high school. Or even as part of high school, maybe senior year is spent doing that. You do learn a lot of useful skills, people get in shape, you get out of the US and see that a whole world exists out there and it might just get people a little more involved and worked up if some asshole tries to start one of these bullshit Iraq deals again. Maybe a little more thought would go into who we are gonna start fighting and invading if EVERYONE were liable to go.

So yeah, soldiers are alright in my book.....cops can eat a big bag of rotten shit every day of their lives for all I care.

Lots of cops were soldiers.

Not all cops are dicks. Some are, some aren't. Some become dicks over time. I've met some police who were very cool, and very understanding. Others less so.

It's a thankless job, but someone has to do it.

...and for the record, the police in the United States aren't nearly as bad as the police in some other countries.

I'm not saying soldiers are automatically good and decent people, I'm saying I can see the upside of being a soldier and I can see where a good and decent person would consider becoming one. By definition they are a fucking assholes.
They heard about this job where you get to be a bully all day long to everyone, you get to enforce the rules...no matter how stupid or unfair the rules are. You can ruin people's lives, beat people up, push people around, kill people, steal from people...anything you want.
and they took that job.
Because they have small tiny little dicks and they got picked on when they were growing up.
Because this asshole got laughed at for his small dick and beat up by bullies now everyone else has to pay the price.

Soldiers are in the same boat as cops. If you became a soldier Marsup, and your superior tells you "go shoot those people" you're just carrying out your duty, right? Does this make you any less of a dick to the people you shot? What if your superior is wrong? What if he is right? What if you have no access to information as to him being wrong or right?

It's not so simple.

Anyway, I will restate. Not all cops are dicks.

I have seen the police do many, many horrible things with my own two eyes. I have had police do terrible things to me, my family, my friends.

Two crooked ass cops tried to kill my father before I was born, it's by pure luck I was ever even born.

I have had that same bad experience with thieves, muggers, drunk drivers, burglars, murderers and sure, some cops.

The cops, not so much at all really.
