I heard this news whilst at a gig with Rimbaud III, who was sent a text message relating this. Then people around us started talking in excited and wounded tones about this. We both felt a little bemused and left out: from the reactions of those nearby, one would think some kind of generation warping event was occurring.
And we were at a Rothko gig. Whom I would not have thought would have had an audience that intersected with Heath Ledger. Perhaps it was the nerdy Batman/Chris Nolan aspect.
He was in a great, modest and fun pulp caper called "Two Hands" before he came to Hollywood. He held up well playing dumb before the awesome Bryan Brown.
