I'd recommend going up one of the towers, the John Hancock or Sears. At the Handcock you can pay $8 or something like that to go up to the 100th floor or you can go to the fruity cocktail bar on the 96th floor and use that money to get yourself a sweet single malt whiskey and enjoy the view. This is the perfect place for you to go 'fake-Irish' on everyone and freak out at 'how tall the buildings are' and 'how many lights there are across the city' etc.

Other than that I'd recommend a trip to the lake. Stay away from that amusement pier place though. Can't remember what the fuck its called but its a big bag of nothing down there. Horrid.

Go see the U-boat definitely. The museums are pretty cool but won't blow your mind if you've been to any museum in a major city before.

If you can try and meet up with a few EAers while you're there. The city's relatively huge and they'll have the best idea of whats going on the time you're there. Plus the ones I've met have been rather decent fellows.

If the baseball is on try and see a game. The game itself will more than likely bore the cunt out of you but its a good experience IMO.

It was only a flippant aside my friend, although the first time I was in Chicago I pretty much saw all the same shit.

I wish we had better zoos here. I visit the local zoo in every town I visit and Chicago, your zoos are pathetic.
Brookfield is getting a little better lately but it's still real half assed.

Actually I got a Boss Loop Station RC-2, pre-owned but essentially brand new in box WITH warranty card intact, for $129.

If I had more cash at the time I would have been tempted to get the used Yamaha BB-414 they had, as those BB basses are flipping solid. Still they can be had new for a little more than they go used.
