i tried a couple of times to listen to the decemberists and i just can't. to me they sound like neutral milk hotel, only fake. not that fake, per se, is bad, but i don't hear any substance.
and i don't find them particularly precious.
it occurs to me that the decemberists might be the mars volta of indie rock.
