slurry-'ole

a person with a slurry (ie mixture) of jizz in their hole

When I was a kid, we used to exclaim, "dag!" as an alternative to using profanity. Like "dang," it was a substitute for "damn," but not quite so honky redneck-sounding.

Was this a regional thing, or did any of you non-Illinoisians also use that expression as kids?

Oh no, we had it down here as well. For some reason the word dag always made me uncomfortable though. Not as much as the word "frick," but close.

if your parents, grandparents, great grandparents, etc. grew up in Chicago there are two things you'll hear them say.

the grocery store is"the jewel":
"i'm going to the jewel"
i guess this could apply to another grocery store too (the Dominicks), but i've heard relatives say "the jewel" for any grocery store.

and of course, the "over by":
"are you going to go over by your parents house tomorrow?

grand prize:
"i'm going to go over by the jewel to get....."

this mostly applies to the south side and a lot of suburban folks who grew up there and all moved out when they grew up.

Plastic grocery bags from supermarkets are also commonly called "Jewel bags", regardless what store they originated from.

totally. even if they're from Target.

i have a good friend that just moved to Santa Cruz, who says he gets made fun off all the time for saying, "yeah man. totally." he claims it's regional to Chicago/Midwest, and picked it up from me, but i'm not 100% sure i buy that. i can't imagine people all over don't say "yeah man. totally." all at once, as one phrase all the time.

Another childhood expression we used to use: "Your ass is grass!"

To this day I don't quite understand what that was supposed to mean literally, but as a kid I knew it indicated that a beat-down was forthcoming.

I think that was pretty universal...

but how about gaywad? Or my personal childhood favorite, Dicksmack, which could be abbreviated as 'smack or 'smacks
