I can't remember where it's from (pigpile liners, maybe?), where the Big Black credo was outlined. One of the points was not to trust people who appeal to your vanity or ambition because they always have an angle. I always thought that was bust-worthy.

Oh, you're most welcome. I think I already linked this thread in various threads in this forum about five times. I also read some of the posts to my ill g/f to cheer her up. If I would be asked why I waste so much time on the Internets, I would blame threads like this one.

How much time did it take you to write that? I'm betting at least ten minutes.

Searched around for some good Mayhew quotes. All I came up with was this one: "uuuuwwhhagggh."

From the "Sound of Impact" booklet:

"I want to push myself, the music, the audience and everything involved as close to the precipice as possible. Although I'm kinda worried about what we'll find there."

Perhaps this one is too obvious...

"I can dig the Ramones and the Birthday Party and the Stooges and Whitehouse and Link Wray and Chrome and Pere Ubu and Rudimentary Peni and the Four Skins and Throbbing Gristle and Skrewdriver and the Ex and Minimal Man and US Chaos and Gang Green and Tommi Stumpff and the Swans and Bad Brains all at the same time, and if you can't then fuck you"

This is my all-time favorite from the forum:

hi, i have downloaded a version of in utero that seems to be the "albini mix". i don't know if it's been discussed yet (and how many times you read a similar question) but... is it pitched or what?

thank's :D

(from italy, excuse my english)

Steve Replied:

Hey Italy,

No problem from the bad english. Is so many better than the bad Italian!

I don't know the thing you down-load. Is maybe not real copy. Anyway, nobody here is to give any the shit about it. Nobody cares here. Is to be so private obsession for fan only, and only!

Okay? Beautiful! Ciao Italy!

Remember, nobody here gives the shit.

I like that one too, but it's perhaps too long for a plaque on a bust.

From that same booklet, this is also good but too long:

"I like noise. I like big-ass vicious noise that makes my head spin. I wanna feel it whipping through me like a fucking jolt. We're so dilapidated and crushed by our pathetic existence we need it like a fix. Robin Gecht hacked up a bunch of whores in Chicago for it. Gacy strangled buttboys for it. Dean Corll killed twenty seven (or more) schoolkids for it. Imagine the bang--not just fucking (which is about as severe a sensation as most people get), but fucking little boys. Poor little innocents who have never done anything bad to anyone, and here's this savage splitting them asswise. And he kills them. Mean killings, like with an oxy-acetalyne cutting torch. Or a pissed-on straight razor. Buttfucking little boys while butchering them. That's how bad we need it. Me, I'm not that desperate yet. I stick with the noise. But an articulated noise that hangs there in your memory and causes further damage."

Note how we carefully stepped over the "negro junkie's vomit" line... maybe we're racist...

Someone get the entire Patti Pezatti article out here!
