Despite a few physical differences (chavs generally aren't orange in colour) these are basically the same thing.

I'm gonna agree with 'Sup here. I see people smoking waiting for the L all the time. I'm not gonna yell at them, snitch on them, etc. It doesn't bother me. Even if it did, I would just walk away from them and stand somewhere else if I needed to get away from the smoke. I know that people are fucked up and would rather not get in a confrontation by telling them not to smoke.

HOWEVER, those kids were in the wrong for pushing that lady onto the tracks. Not cool. They could've just said "Fuck off... we're gonna keep smoking!" or "Eat shit you old hag". Putting her in a sling was not the right thing to do here.
