Looks like holding ctrl generally is the key (pun intended) to doing this.another great feature is the possibilty to customize the shortcuts in the Action list. there's a search function that helps you finding the desired function. you can easily add and delete shortcuts and even use any midi device to controll pretty much everything in Reaper. That's really cool. Not sure how people can deal with mousing around to do stuff that's 3-4 times faster with a keyboard. For me, my focus is a lot better if what I'm doing in a UI is happening as quickly as my brain is instructing. Might just be an idiosyncrasy of mine though!I used the above pictured midi fighter as a controller for an eq plugin. I think turning knobs and listening is way nicer than concentrating on what you're doing with the mouse. when the plugin is opened there's a list of midi controls where you select the parameter you want to control and a "learning" function that asigns the parameter to the midi knob/fader of your choice.

Would be so much better to do it with something like this. You feel like this integrates really well with Reaper, then? Might put this on my wish-list.yes it worked great with Reaper. I too used it for a parametric eq, 4 bands, gain - Q - frequency. in the midi fighter software you can define wether the knobs are center detent or act like volume knobs. the fancy color thing didn t work on mine (google the žmidi fighter twister œ manual) but I think that this has to do with me running windows7 on my PC.but ¦.. before you put it on your wish list you might also look into softube s console 1. which is an outboard controller that comes with a plugin including gate eq and compressor. it s about twice as expensive but works really great (a friend of mine uses it with Reaper).https://www.softube.com/console1.php

I was quite in a hurry Thursday night, and Reaper updated only because I downloaded something to my music computer (which is usually offline).I only wanted to finish something and go to bed. grrrr ¦ all midi devices off!pretty sure they will get that fixed immediately!

Damn.Huh.I'll try the Korg Nanokey2 with my new Reaper license. It works like a charm with my previous license/install.

OK, dumb question that I've tried to resolve and nver been able to get a straight answer about-How do I trim the beginning and end of songs in Reaper, like the 15-20 seconds it takes from when I hit record until I can wander over and start playing.Trimming indiviual tracks seems easy enough, but I want to be able to shorten things up w/o having to export into audacity or something.
