Melvins.
If the lovely Chavez band was still alive, it'd be Chavez.
But it is Melvins.

They are set to have a new album (entitled _Raw Power_) out early next year. The cover of which will look like this:

43Zeni Geva, god I love their stuff. nothing else comes close.
A Perfect Murder and Kylesa are good too, in my book.

she plays everything herself. shes one hell of a guitarist
and a goddamn incredible drummer.
check her out!
me likey! is she in any way affiliated with the Joggers? i hear some similar sensibilities in the guitars, and what with them being from Portland and all... that's probably who gets my vote if it's somebody under the radar that i think people should check out... the Joggers. one of the only bands i've ever heard where i said "hey, i bet that guy playing guitar listens to polvo!" because they manage to sneak just a taste of it in there. not a ripoff at all, just a clear inspiration. they sound nothing like polvo. or don cab. or the strokes. but i still hear polvo meets don cab meets the strokes. in a really great way. all i've ever heard from them is the album Solid Guild, and a sorta side-project thing that i think is called Cajun Gems if i remember right. 1/3 of the songs on each of those albums are *phenomenal* in my opinion, like every time i hear them i go "oh hell yeah". and the rest are good, no dogs that i can think of. and my roommate, being friends with them, did indeed confirm their (at least one of the gtr players) love for polvo. did i mention they use tapping very nicely? The Joggers. i've pimped them here before, and i'll probably do it again someday.
