Kirk Hammett just looks like a timid nervous lchild throughout SKoM. You want to sit him down away from the other children, tell him to take a breath, have some milk and biscuits and remind him he's an adult multimillionaire in a hard-rockin' hard-gurnin' band who do their darnedest to sound all angry and fierce. No-one will bully him on his way home from chess-club again.

Some Kind Of Monster is a laughable film about the members a good 80s thrash metal band becoming egotistical morons (save hammett) and the utterly abysmal album they recorded a few years ago.

It fails as a documentary and excels as a comedy. The Hetfield door-slam? The "I'm in a shit mood" argument? Kick drums that get Lars' "dick hard"? FUUUUCK! COMEDIC GOLD!

Also, Bob Rock made me realize three things:
1. I'm probably never going to buy an SM-7
2. Once and for all... Fuck Pro-Tools
3. I never want any album I engineer to sound like St. Anger

I also want to murder Lars' snare drum for creating that horrible PING sound that someone else already mentioned.

Yeah, what the heck is up with the snare sound? So annoying.

My favorite parts of this comedic gem:

* Lars selling his paintings! It's so obvious he only cares about the monetary value of the works. "Some people choose to put their millions of dollars in a vault; I chose to throw them up on my walls." Also, the interview with Lars' personal assistant, who explains that Lars is selling the paintings because he wants to enter a new phase of his life, when it's obvious that it's because he needs the money! LOL!

* Lars just reveling in Dave Mustaine's equally pathetic whining. "It's hard for me to believe that you've been obsessed with my band for the past twenty years." Yeah right! You know that m akes you happy, you greedy prick.

* When Lars said, "I went running this morning, and the one word that kept running through my head was "FUCK"".

* Phil putting up the signs that say "Get in the Zone", and whatnot, and then Lars tears them all down and changes "Zone It!" to "Bone It!" LOL!

* Seeing Bob Rock kiss Lars' ass all of the time! Every time an argument between James and Lars takes place, Bob takes Lars' side no matter what. LOL! What an ass-kisser!

* When they try to fire Phil, and then, after everything's been said, Phil goes: "Okay, guys, I'm gonna take off. So I'll see you next week?" LOL! What a boner! What purpose does he serve to deserve 40 grand a month?! He never does anything.


Basically, anything having to do with Lars is unintentional comedic gold. What a massive, thundering backside.

Oh, man, I'm gonna watch it again right now.
