Not crap, though I don't really listen to much Smog anymore.
Knock Knock and Red Apple Falls still rule, though.

That makes a LOT of sense.
This album is excellent. Why did I not buy it 6 years ago?
Thank, my Tiny Monk!

I have been listening to Burning Kingdom a lot recently. I had almost completely forgotten about it, and the influence it has/had on my own personal musical development. I'm usually not too keen on using the big words, but this record is pure genius.
NOT CRAP.

No mention of Woke on a Whaleheart here yet. I've been listening to it on and off for a couple of weeks now. I think it is good, but doesn't match up to the rest of his albums from Wild Love on.
It does have some great lyrics, though:
"The city was a fist, I lived on its wrist." Classic.

I am like, two degrees away from Bill.
One of my Ex-GFs bumped uglies with him.
I wish I liked his music more than I do.

I just left one of his shows early. Admittedly, I haven't heard that much of his stuff, but apart from his 'hits' he's really boring. Slow and plodding.

Too fucking good for words.
The best lyricist I've ever heard? Probably.
Great, great singer.
New approach to every album, always full of new ideas.
I like all his records, some more than others of course. But he went through a eight year streak (97-05) of releasing albums that were near perfect. 6 brilliant, brilliant records in a row:
Red Apple Falls
Knock Knock
Dongs of Sevotion
Rain on Lens
Supper
A River Ain't Too Much To Love
I can't think of a single other artist/band who's released 6 albums of that quality consecutively.
NOT CRAP
