I can't believe that those speculations are real. Craig Wilson, maybe, Jacque Jones, no fucking way.

Maybe the outfield at Yankee Stadium won't cause Jones' throws to bounce so much on the way to the infield.

As much fun it is to complain about their shortcomings, it is a bit sad to see their careers ostensibly end. Wood hasn't been able to throw more than a few of outings in no less than 3 years. Prior has had his 1st shoulder surgery.
Wood's career is over. No more worrying about him shining on another team. No need to hold him. He should try out for 1st base next year.
Prior has a dead arm, and can only hope to be as useful as Wade Miller if he returns. Apparently he wasn't being a snob, just being incapable.

Here is Will Carroll's detailed Unfiltered entry regarding Prior's surgery.
All in all, this is a very negative result for Prior, but gives him the knowledge that he was pitching with significant damage. His mechanics protected him from more significant damage....

When Prior was new, there was a lot of talk about his perfect mechanics and stuff...he was supposed to be the perfect pitcher or something...it seems to me that Dusty just rode Wood and Prior way too hard during their playoff run season in 2003. Of course, I think this is a commonly drawn conclusion.
CRAP...but it's hard for me to blame the pitchers themselves...

It's a bummer their careers could be over. Strikeout pitchers bring what homerun hitters bring to the game; excitement. At least this year I hadn't pinned my hopes on them and fully expected them not to pitch.
Next question, Jim Hendry Crap or Not Crap?

O yeah, Not Crap, not their fault they have glass arms and were ridden way too hard. Kerry Wood was pitching both games of double headers in high school.

I guess I was wrong about Wood. It looks like
Prior should learn how to pitch lefty though. I wonder if there has been another pitcher who has had 2 consecutive season ending shoulder surgeries, without throwing a pitch.
