I'm now curious as to brunch being an urban phenomenon. Pretty sure they don't do brunch in the sticks. In 2017 I travelled to a friend's farm in downstate Illinois to experience the total eclipse, (a sundown town but that didn't stop me from experiencing a once in a lifetime moment...maybe twice since I'm going back in 2024), and though the town was cute and modern in a small town way I couldn't fathom a brunch spot or those people even using the word "brunch."
