On the 00s internet it was popular to address someone disparagingly with ”You sir are an idiot”. Never understood what that addition was supposed to do.
It's a Simpson's reference. The joke being that a clown referring to another clown with an honorific, and then "idiot" is pretty silly.
I don't think I ever consider what form of address is being used typically, but the predilection to call my dinner party "guys" when I am dropping three figures on a meal, grates. Call me sir, you fucking slacker. If I'm at a greasy spoon, go nuts. I like sweetie, hon, darlin', sugar...all that stuff is endearing. I'd like to bring back "mack".

I once had a very animated co-worker who would address me as as "bro", "dude", and "man" all within the same spoken paragraph when he got excited about something. I liked him well enough, but I was never quite as passionate about the job as he seemed to be.

Bro/dude just is, no denying it now. Yes it started as irony to some extent, way back when, but as with most such endeavors it's wormed its way into my speech so thoroughly it's terminal.

"Bro" is horrible, and as I surf a lot, I get to hear it all the time.
