In case you're curious, this is the earliest recorded usage of the word "woke" in the context of social justice.

It's from the Smithsonian Folkways Collection, a brief interview following a performance of the song "Scottsboro Boys" by Leadbelly.

I don't really get what you're getting at.

I think he means that the line between “Boyd Rice” and “middle-aged sex tourists” is very short and doesn’t pass through “tiki culture.”

I associated white-guy tourism to Thailand with that before Coil, but those creeps didn't help matters.
