Better fromtman? Danzig. Gotta give it to him there.

Y'all had better call somebody...

This place isn't a clubhouse for folks who are mainly concerned with chops and shredding. Thankfully. But in questions of technique I'd say Dio could do a decent, albeit hammy, version of something Danzig did. Danzig could not sing some of Dio's parts.

Glenn could sing well in his younger days, though. "Halloween" is a tough one to belt out properly, and that was long before Autotune.

He was 38 / 39 when he did this and it's a magnificent performance:

Danzig 5 is where his vocals fell off a cliff.

I have a theory that Danzig sings in the same key for every song, regardless of the key of the song being played by the musicians. I do not have the time to prove it so I will just assume it is true.

No that's Morrissey. He has like 2 or 3 intervals that he sings in every single song, in as many permutations as one can get out of 2 or 3 intervals.

If this were a thread about punk cred, I'd have given it to Danzig.

But in terms of talent, vocal range, expression and tonality, Dio wins hands down. No question.

In terms of songwriting, that'd be a more difficult decision.

This is a very astute point.

But what Morrissey lacks in vocal talent, he more than makes up for in maudlin self-pity.

Come on, man this hit is laughably wack.
