You're absolutely right. The reason I haven't ignored him totally in the past was that I couldn't quite tell if he was an annoying troll, or an annoying non-troll. It's clear now, though.
Why do you make it so scary to post here.

look, reading this stuff today has really upset me. i thought the picture of rachael playing bass was super cool looking. there’s not enough female musicians in my opinion and what i was trying to do was to champion her for playing music. i think it’s a very cool thing. i guess i’ve had some disagreements with her in the past. well, i think she has really overreacted to some things in the past and i probably could’ve handled things better myself. the avatar picture was intended as a salute to her for being a female musician, and, a way for me to say, let’s have peace and be friends. she overreacted, again, in my opinion, to my avatar. at that point, i put d’arcy’s head on hers just cause i thought it looked kinda cool/funny. but i don’t see it being mean in anyway shape or form. this board is strange. i think that it’s a very hospitable place but as soon as you don’t agree with everyone else or have the same taste, people lambast you. being called a troll is highly insulting. hell, i’m probably one of the very few people on this board that uses my own name.

wow, electrical board is a freaking dork fest. ladies, do your fellow ladies a service and quit talking about being a woman. it makes us appear even more one-in-one with pms. as for walter and the rest -- from what i can tell it's equal freakazoid status all across the board. coming from an objective observer's stand-point anyway. so less casting stones, hm? more talk about bands and tastes i can berate.

When someone, even someone who you've never met, asks you to stop using a photo of them on the internet, especially a picture that they can prove is them and which you've outright admitted is them, you are pretty much obliged to obey. Otherwise, you are a piece of donkey shit.

That said, Rachael, I think threatening to quit because no one here respects you due to your womanhood is kind of an overreaction. We're talking about a piece of donkey shit here.

edit: I promise I meant to say 'obligated' instead of 'obliged.' I blame lack of sleep and an overwhelming headache. Sorry2k5.

But what if the person originally posted that picture on the same message board it is reposted on? In other words, who but people who have already seen it on that other horrifying thread are looking? I thought the point was to share your physical attractiveness and have awkward cyber sex. I mean, I get the point. But to play devil's advocate... I think calling someone donkey shit is more harsh than to just repost a picture a person already posted on the board -- if someone finds the image horrifying or offensive, that's hardly the reposter's fault. Maybe?

Do you want an example? I will give you one. I never saw Rachael post the picture originally, although obviously she did so and that's where WalterDonkeyshit took it from. So I would be one of the people who didn't already see it on that other thread, and yet am looking.

Just because someone posts a picture, particularly one they've taken or one of themselves, on a public board doesn't make it okay for you to use the picture any way you want to. Particularly after the person whose picture it is has asked you to stop

To play devil's advocate denier, "no." Why? Because someone posting a picture on a public board does not make it okay for you to use the picture any way you want to. No one is arguing that a picture of Rachael is horrifying or offensive. It's being misused, and that is the problem. Nice try though.

so, technically, ironyengine, this would mean that oucheh and angry dragon should both change their avatars since i believe both people
pictured weren't intending for their pictures to end up as avatars on
the electrical audio board, correct?

If the people whose pictures they're using say "hey oucheh and angry_dragon, stop using my picture" then yes, that is precisely what it means.

So, what your saying Iron Engine is that as long as nobody notices, it doesn't matter? But if someone does notice, you should take it down. So basically, it's ok to be internet immoral from the get-go so long as you say sorry afterwards. I like that method. It's so American.
