Thankyou for that. My housemate has the Didn't It Rain reissue and the demo versions with only Jason and his guitar are so beautiful.

There is a new book being published about Jason Molina coming out in May.If you were in the know, unlike me, you could pre-order it along with a record of an early live performance, but it has already sold out. I would very much like to get a copy of this record for my girlfriend who, besides being an exceptional human being, is also a huge Songs Ohia fan. If anybody can help me out, PM me. I don't have a ton of money but I'd be happy to pay something reasonable-ish above the list price or work something in trade. (No rough stuff.)Looking forward to the book, regardless.

I just finished the above mentioned book "Jason Molina: Riding with the Ghost" by Erin Osmon. Ms. Osmon was at the Songs: Molina performance in Durham NC last week, and signed copies of the book. I enjoyed reading it quite a bit, although the end is almost unbearably sad, as you might expect. Well researched, lots of info, lots of input from Jason's family, friends and band members. FM Steve is mentioned and quoted in it as well. I say Not Crap for the book, with my only waffle being that it could have used the services of a good editor (occasional grammar & punctuation stuff, the isolated redundancy here & there.) But overall a good read and a compelling story.
