Blue for the Red Sun always stood out to me from the Kyuss collection. I have some video footage of them playing Rockpalast in the 90's. Hard to look at that frontman, but they sounded good from what I could discern from the VHS. God...I was SOOO stoner rock five years ago...sometimes I miss Man's Ruin...some of it was crap (Tummler, I'm looking at you), but the first Queens album, the first Goatsnake, the first High on Fire...mwa! WHA?!

I love Tummler. "Early Man" is an outstanding stoner rock album. Meaner than mean guitar tone and a blast of a live band.

But I understand that the vocals turn some people off.

They're playing at Emissions from the Monolith this year, but alas, I'm going to miss it. Can't wait to see them live again.

i love the first two albums. i lost interest in this band around "songs for the deaf" but still, they are very far from crap. plus josh homme seems like a very decent fellow.

i just feel like wrting how much l love the song "mexicola". and the line "point and shot, i know just what you mean, in this world that's full of shit and gasoline, yeah baby".

Iron Monkey were a highly underrated band. They're still defunct, unfortunately, but a collection of rare live recordings was released recently.

eater, if you want to revisit that "classic" stoner rock sound, I highly recommend a band called Truckfighters. Those Scandinavians are still making it like they used to in the desert.
