utter crap,
christopher nolan has lost what little respect I ever had for him in making this wooden, boring, piece of predictable shit that ends, as all shitty action films must, with a shitty punch-up and a shitty sequel setup. shit.

ok waffle factor of 1 for hiring micheal caine as cockney alfred

How can a prequel not end on a sequel setup? Especially a superhero/comic book movie? That's kind of the the name of the game. While the others (wooden, boring, etc) are matters of opinon, the sequel setup complaint seems like spitting into the wind.

i like how in the Tim Burton Batman the Joker fucking dies.

Batman Begins was setting up a franchise for sure, and the movie suffered for it. Still better than the rest of the superhero flicks we've seen in the past few years.

This is nitpicking, but it wasn't a prequel since technically the movie was a reboot of the franchise. In the Batman Begins continuity the previous movies have not and will not take place. [/nerd]

Yes. Batman Begins and the films that will follow it have nothing to do with the last bunch of Batman films.

This was not the Frank Miller project (Batman: Year One), which was supposed to be directed by Aranofsky, not Fincher. That one didn't get off the ground. This version was being developed simultaneously.

Oh come on, it's not bad, is it? It's pretty fucking close to Batman the comic, surely?

Which one?

That's a bit like saying "What's wrong with this record with a guitar solo on it? It's like the others with guitar solos, surely?"

Batman's been around a long time and has undergone countless reinventions, variations, and incarnations, of widely varying quality.
